As Health, Safety and environment and quality system is the main basic requirement of any
successful company therefore safety is the main concern and priorities service offered by
BMI Electrical.
The BMI Electrical maintenance division of this contactor is highly concern about the lives of
the employee rather than the completion of the given project / work.

Electrical maintenance division and its staff.

* Each section holds a daily morning meeting which serves as reminder to the employees of
possible accidents and accidents that may occurs during working sessions.
* Every employee is obligated to attend an induction at least twice a year and a combined
Safety session once a month to remind all about the safety rules and regulations.
* We introduce a safety slogan (Never give safety a day off).

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
The Management of BMI Electrical is responsible for ensuring that all activities for the project are
planned and implemented timeously. The appointed responsible Project Manager ensures that
proper and adequate communications pertaining to methodology and plans for each plant or
product are properly and adequately passed on to all relevant personnel.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT POLICY
We firmly believe in development of skills within the scope of our workforce, which the
requirements of the South African Qualifications Authority Act and Skills Development Act.
BMI Electrical ensures that suitable qualified and experienced contract managers and staff are
available to carry out and supervises all contract related activities.
Training in safe working methods is provided on an on-going basis, as appropriate to the specific
contract installation practices.
Where staff is promoted, or others have joined the company, training and experience records are
reviewed to determine in which areas further training is desirable.
As staffs attain further skills and experience on a various types of contracts, records of this are added
to the skills and experience matrix.
Our aim is to improve the competency level of the workforce and to achieve the higher level of
productivity and competitiveness.
Our staff will receive on the training as well as participation training courses where appropriate.
Contractor shall pass on the required training to employer’s staff that will carry out operations. The
training will be carried out after the project completion.
INSPECTION AND TESTING
BMI Electrical receives from it clients the necessary electrical criteria and site layout requirements,
and specifications to complied with.
Where activities are subcontracted, the supplied information for the scope of work is stipulated to
the subcontractor, in writing and on drawings.
The BMI Electrical Contractor Manager ensures that the necessary resources and Quality Control
Plans (QCP) and implemented to verify that the required are achieved.
All test results are formally recorded and traceable to the particular stages and final completion of
the phases of the contract.
BMI Electrical utilizes qualified and certified personnel in accordance with SABS. The laid down
procedures for inspection and testing per plant are strictly followed
DOCUMENT AND DATA CONTROL
BMI Electrical has in place, necessary arrangements for the receipt, index, review, storage and
retrieval of customer drawings, specification and data.
Similar arrangements are in place for the copies of BMI Electrical documents transmitted to the
clients.
The BMI Electrical Quality System documents are controlled and maintained in a current status in
accordance with the Quality System Distribution List.
Where new documents or their revisions are received or generated - necessary arrangement are in
place for their timeous distribution to those parties who need them.
BMI ELECTRICAL maintains a schedule of applicable standards, which includes their current revision
status.
Due to the volume and number of projects and the large amount of capital involved, BMI Electrical
Pty Ltd ensures that the documentation for each project undertaken is completed and accurate.
Data acquisition is recorded, verified, filed and utilized in project management, operations and
maintenance in order to achieve complete project life-cycle.
QUALITY CONTROL POLICY AND GUARANTEE OF WORKMANSHIP
The Director, Management and General Staff of BMI Electrical are committed to the establishment,
maintenance and the implementation of a formally documented quality system, which meets the
spirit, and interests of ISO 9001 and ISO 9002: 1994.
It is BMI Electrical policy to execute its projects in accordance with the contractually specified SABS
(SANS) standards and customer specifications applicable for the scope of work.
We ensure that our customer's quality control policies and the requirement are adhered to all times,
by the establishment of applicable internal quality control procedures.
All equipment and our materials purchases are from customers approved supplies only.
Our supplied equipments and material as well as workmanship carry a minimum of full one-year
guarantee as per our standard warranty of the environment.
Through the on-going implementation of the Quality System, BMI Electrical is able to provable its
customers with the peace of mind that the contractually specified requirements will be consistently
complied with.
PURCHASING
BMI Electrical utilizes the Purchase and Procurement methods approved by and in conformity with
SARS. All subcontractors, if any, must be qualified,
HANDLING, STORAGE AND UTILISATION OF MATERIALS
All materials are handling and stored in such a manner as to avoid damage and in accordance with
relevant stores procedures. Lifting and transportation must be carried out securely and safety.
CORRECTIVE AND PREVENTIVE ACTION
The Network supply reliability relies on proper maintenance of the plant. The BMI Electrical
Management policy is based on the application of "PREVENTIVE" maintenance. Preventive
maintenance is carried out regularly or as base on "Condition" based maintenance. Where plant still
fails. Corrective’’ maintenance or repairs need to be carried out. These procedures are carried out by
qualified and certified personal.
CONTROL OF NON-COMFORMING PRODUCTS
All products and services are measured and these measurements are compared to standard and/or
to specifications provided. Where the deviations are out of the accepted tolerances, the same will be
rejected and, where appropriate, reworked.
CONTROL INSPECTION, MESURING AND TESTING EQUIPMENT
Each project will be constructed and tested for conformity to specifications according to relevant
test requirements. The test equipment calibrations are recorded and compared to standard
tolerance. All measurements must be within the specified tolerances.
PROCESS CONTROL, INSPECTION AND TESTING
Each project will have foreman to ensure that project specification are met. The methodology
includes test sampling, inspection and where appropriate specialist verification is applied.
CONTROL OF QUALITY RECORDS
All projects are subjected to continuous quality control by certified BMI Electrical personnel or their
subcontractors. The quality measurements are recorded and filed systematically per project. This
makes it easy to follow and analyse individual quality of plant and / or quality of whole project
installation and construction.
INTERNAL QUALITY AUDITING
Quality control is carried out for each item in conformity with defined standards by qualified and
certified staff of BMI Electrical or their subcontractors. These quality control records are subjected to
audit by internal Senior Project Managers and Senior Project Technicians in order to guarantee the
final product. To augment the internal audit an audit is also undertaken by a Consultant.
SERVICE CONTRACT
The BMI Electrical Pty Ltd will ensure that at each stage of the contract, specification, standards and
regulatory requirements are met. The Contractor is supported by a Consulting Engineer. BMI
Electrical provides Service Contractors to maintain plant and/or systems after is completed.
